Thanks for that link, David - I've seen the video about the horrible asbestos mess in Libby. It's unbelievable with WR Grace did to them and got away with. So glad to hear the Obama administration is finally helping them.

100 Questions & Answers About Mesothelioma (Paperback)

This was not acceptable, and we needed real answers to our questions and FAST!
Harvey Pass has done an excellent job of de-mystifying the illness and his well written guide pointed us in the right direction to get the best help available.
Thanks Harvey for a lifesaving (and encouraging) manual

Hi,

My advice is to look into oil pulling (Google it). It's an Ayurvedic technique for pulling toxins from the body, especially from the mouth. It worked well for me in other circumstances.

HI Observer - If you mean tested for asbestos exposure, your best bet is to get a chest xray. Asbestos irritates the lining of the lungs and that shows up on xrays. Problem is, it takes anywhere from 15-40 years after exposure for this to happen. Taking a baseline xray now will let you know where you stand. It's not predictive though.

In terms of the chemicals in the air, I'm still trying to sort this out. Many of the chemicals on the FISC site are fuel-related (benzene, MEK, MBTE, 1,3 butadiene were the most prevalent). I believe a blood test can determine exposure, but I'm still checking this out. I'll post when I find out more.
